Workshop 9: DB(k) Begins in 2010
Sunday November 1. 2009
We are just months away from the availability of a new plan
design. First conceived in PPA, the combined DB/401(k)
plan becomes a reality in the 2010 plan year. Come hear a
discussion of what might be the likely design features of such
an arrangement and how such plans may operate. Share your
ideas of desired plan design features. The EGTRRA Defined
Benefit Prototypes and Volume Submitters that are currently
undergoing the approval process will be available in 2010, but
will not contain the appropriate language to address DB(k)’s.
Thus, employers will be adopting individually designed plans for
the foreseeable future. Any guidance that is actually released
before the workshop will be addressed.
